Composer & Pianist Exploring the Space Between Jazz, Classical, and Poetry.

Jeremy Walker is a composer and pianist based in Asheville, North Carolina, whose work moves between jazz, classical art song, and poetry. He creates text‑driven vocal music, cross‑genre chamber works, and improvisation‑based solo piano pieces. His current projects include new art songs, chamber compositions, and collaborations with artists across disciplines.

“Hang the classifications, and bring on more jazz art songs. The term [crossover] is a tad demeaning and does scant justice to the subtleties and innovations achieved by Walker in his richly suggestive new cycle … Compositions that attempt to fuse the worlds of jazz and classical aren’t often convincing, but here’s one that is.”
—Terry Blain, Specialist to the Star Tribune (BBC Music Magazine, Opera Magazine U.K.)

“[Walker’s Haunted Blue contains] songs that may reflect the future of classical music, … If Franz Schubert were composing songs today, would they sound like the songs heard on this new recording?“
—American Public Media, New Classical Tracks

“All the works revel in spectral zones between light and shadow, loss and connection, classical and jazz.”
Classical Minnesota Public Radio

“A convincing blend of jazz and classical elements.”
